Fall is in the air and whether you’re decorating for the season and preparing for a holiday gathering, a floral arrangement is the perfect way to bring the autumn colors and aromas into a home.
Puffer’s Boutique and Floral, in business for 51 years, knows exactly how to make the perfect arrangement to welcome fall and celebrate the holidays.
1. “Start with an awesome container — like a vase, a basket or a metal container,” says Puffer’s owner Yvonne Hutchson. “From there, you can try greens like seeded eucalyptus, sage or thyme or harvest-type greens.”
2. Next, add some brilliant fall flowers in shades of orange, red, yellow and dark purple. Hutchson recommends selections such as sunflowers or red-tipped orange roses. “Poms come in all shades, and carnations also come in all shades,” she says.
3. To top it all off, Hutchson turns back to the season. “Then you want to add signature fall items like cattails, wheat, bittersweet, fall leaves or heather, “she suggests. “And then find a raffia or burlap bow to go around it.”
